Taking a second away from my work to post this important message to all my string pluckin’ jam buddies… Take note: When we next sit down and start layering sparse and moody rock guitars while I play drums, I want it to sound like this. Note the interactions between the bass and drums. What? Badass loops is what. They don’t have to be on a bass necessarily; just equal parts bouncy and badass.

I wish I got to be involved with this recording! I think I’ll assemble a drum kit to go with this song. That’ll be my next bit of music homework. I hereby promise to Edwin to do it by the end of the week.

Every measure it takes is trivial to circumvent, and will not deter the people doing the vast majority of illegal content distribution. It does, however, provide a set of tools that are not only easy to leverage for private or nefarious purposes, but also align the US with the human rights abuses of oppressive regimes.
The bill is transparently the work of an entertainment industry which, failing to raise itself to the standards of demand, wants to drag the law down to its level with more avenues for litigation and greater weapons at its disposal. That we are even entertaining the idea of government-ordered blacklists of certain websites is repugnant and un-American.
